I didn’t start writing this book until 56...proof that it’s never too late to find your purpose.
Growing up on a bursary at a grammar school, I often felt like I didn’t belong. Like Kevin, my main character, I struggled with self-doubt and escaped into stories, performance, and imagination.
Now, I’m on a mission to help young readers do something I wish I’d done sooner:
think critically, believe in themselves, and discover their purpose early in life.
Alongside my book, I deliver high-energy author visits, assemblies, and classroom workshops, all linked to the self-development checklists included at the back of the book.

These sessions don’t just tell a story...they get children thinking, questioning, and engaging with their own potential.
✨ Because life is for living and it starts with how we think.

***Five schools. Five new library books. One unforgettable moment of connection. ***
I’m feeling incredibly moved today as I share this photo from Uganda. Thanks to the amazing charitable work of Steve Hill MBE, five wonderful schools have each received a donated copy of my book for their libraries and seeing the children holding Kevin and Sid’s adventure - An Awakening of a Star has filled me with so much joy and pride
The five schools now welcoming the book into their shelves are:
* Rhinah Kindergarten and Primary School Rhinah Kindergarten & Junior School.Masaka
* Primer Junior School
* Beka Infant and Primary School
* Hana Primary School
* Jomain Midland Academy -Kalangala Island, Lake Victoria
To think that a story written here in Oldham is now being read by children across Uganda is something I’ll treasure forever. Stories really do travel further than we ever imagine -carrying courage, imagination and hope with them.
A huge thank you to Steve for taking my donated books out as part of his incredible work, and also to the teachers in these schools who nurture a love of reading every single day- thank you. And to see a photo of the children receiving their book- their smiles say everything
Here’s to stories finding their way into the hands and hearts of children around the world.
